The trail Flinbanan has been given a real facelift during the autumn. This real classic in the trail system of Åre Bike Park have been in need of an upgrade for a long time and now it´s happen.
We started the project by renovate and expand the bottom section. The final brake-slope has been replaced which a velodrom curve and a couple of jumps. The final section has been twice as long because of this. Now Flinbanan connects directly to Kälkspåret which gives a much better flow between these trails.
Most of the section above the final has also been renovated. The big velodrom curve at the end has become even bigger and better. The final has also been a bit more “down the hill” with a small drop edge and another velodrom curve at the conclusion of the section. Now it will be much better flow between this section and the final section of Flinbanan.
We have also begun to renovate the start of the trail. Unfortunately, we did not clear this small sub-project before the snow came, but we aim to have everything ready by midsummer. What is clear with this section right now is a completely new part linking the end of the upper section with the beginning of the next section. Gone is the bit boring middle part and replaced with a new part with several curves and jumps.
Flinbanan, thanks to this autumn's efforts, together with plans for spring will be substantially longer with much better overall flow, especially between the different sections. The level of difficulty of the trail was changed from blue to red (intermediate to advanced).
Now you might think that we lack a blue line from the lift VM6:an, but it's not true. We have built a brand new blue trail on this part of the mountain. But more about this trail later on.
